week 11

The weather outside this week was pretty chilly but not as bad as last week. From monday till wednesday i've been hearing this bird squaking and making a racket. I went outside and drew a picture of the bird making all the noise. It's a pretty weird looking bird, i have no idea what kind it is

week 10

The weather this week was freezing cold, had to wear my jacket around to class and whenever i went out side. My friends and i drove down to st armands to visit my friend Alex working at Starbucks on the circle. On the way back i saw this slow speed sign and took a picture.

week 9

the weather wasn't too cold this week so i went out again later in the after noon to look for a nice picture. the sun was just about setting and i found a pier and thought it'd make for a good picture.

week 8

It rained a lot this week and I went out back to see what I could find to draw. I was lucky enough to find this bullfrog (or what I think is a bullfrog) down by the bayou. I looked up pictures of bullfrogs and this guy seems to share the same characteristics.

week7

This week the weather was really nice on tuesday so i took yet another bike ride this time just up the bridge to st Armand's circle and took a few more pictures.

week 6

I didn't get out too much this week so i just walked out to the cove's backyard and did a quick drawing of what im pretty sure is a sand hill crane. It was wading in the shallows of the bayou.

week 5

Another work filled week, but i still got out on my bike again this time down to lido beach. I got down there just in time for the sunset and there were plenty of people watching it with me, so I took a few pictures

week 4

The work load let up a little this week and the weather was pretty clear outside, so I went for another bike ride, this time I rode downtown and got some pizza. Here are a few pictures from that bike ride

week 3

This week was still pretty chilly but it warmed up enough for me to ride down to Lido beach. I used to run track in high school and there aren't too many safe places to go running around here so I usually ride my bike down to st Armand's circle and walk to the beach. There's a sidewalk that goes up along side the beach that I use to go running. I brought my camera along with me and took a picture of a pelican who was perched on a ledge near the bridge

week 2

The weather outside is pretty cold, I wear my sweater to class. This week seemed to be just as busy as the last but I was able to get out on a bike ride down bay shore drive. I rode down to the Ringling museum and back on Wednesday. Along the way I took a picture of some flowers growing on the side of the road.
I don't know what kind of flowers they could be but they are reddish in color, and they grew close to the water because bay shore drive has a little bay along side it.

week 1

Here's my first post of my ecology log for class... i've been keeping a log on paper with drawings and now im going to post them up on here for easier access.

This week was pretty busy for me, I didn't get out too much, the weather was pretty chilly. I live on the Ringling campus in the "cove" housing. The "backyard" of the cove has the bayou river running along side it. My window has a view of the back yard and has a small ledge protruding out that sometimes catches falling tree nuts of some kind. there's a squirrel that often comes up and eats them on my window sill usually in the morning. I took a quick picture of him and drew from it.
